I've heard that there won't be any more catalogues after this year with everything being on their web site.

That may well explain why all Axi machines this week have been reduced in price ahead of what everyone has come to expect, a rise of 10%

I believe the once a year price rise is a flawed concept in today's fluctuating market and may lead to lost sales, rather that customers thinking of it as price stability.

I cant think of any other retailer selling thousands of items that sets their prices for everything for a full year. I'm glad I didn't pull the trigger on a new bandsaw last week, as was the intention to mitigate the expected rises, just to find the price fell. That would have been a double whammy.

I may as well wait until the end of Jan when I am doing the course at Axminster.

Beware, they usually raise their prices once a year in January when they release their new catalogue. Although they do also drop prices through the year on some items.
Last year the new catalogues dropped through people's letter boxes at the end of December, and may have been in store too, giving a heads up on the changes. Keep a wary eye on that.

I understand logic re responsive pricing etc but the catalogue is invaluable in terms of see the range set out and being able to compare even if it was produced without prices that were set on-line.

Yea you can read it on-line using a tablet but you can't use it to wipe the lower regions where as the paper catalogues you can get the benefit of both :twisted: :twisted: :twisted:

Nah, the paper is too high quality. Scratches summat terrible.
