Lovely. I've only ever fed mine well dried seasoned wood.

My missus parents live in the south of France so I know what you mean re: the oak firewood

Got the extractor. Built it and just thicknessed some oak with barely any chips left on the bed and not a single bit pressed into the wood. I'm happy. I've put off getting a bigger more powerful HVLP because of costing as much as the PT I will use it on, and taking up more space, but I see now there's no point having a PT without something which can shift the chips away.

Mike, did you get extra bags from Axminster or somewhere else? Reviews suggest they aren't as strong as the one which comes with it.

I bought the bags from Axminster, they seem to be adequate for my usage.
