Evening all - I'm at the end of my tether with trying to download pdfs etc. using Firefox
Every time I try, it just opens multiple tabs reading "untitled" and the only way to stop them is to exit. What's going on??? Its driving me to distraction and wonder if anyone else has had the same problem or knows how to solve it :)

Thank you

Mark

It's not just you, I've had the problem as well. I 'worked around' the problem by using Internet Explorer ... someone more knowledgeable will probably know the proper way.

That's odd, I am using Firefox 2.0.0.8 as my browser, I have not had the happen to me. I have Adobe reader 8 installed on my pc which is running XP pro with service pack 2 installed.

Dave - I've just downloaded your Firefox version, but stll have the same trouble  I'll try the same as Lee.

Cheers

Mark

I have no problems with PDF files with Firefox on XP.

All up to latest versions.

Works OK now I've downloaded the latest version (v8 ) of Adobe Reader.

Me too - hurrah! Simple really! (homer)

Thanks all

Mark

there may be other ways of doing this, but the easiest is to add the PDF 'add-on' to firefox

from firefox menu select Tools, Add-ons then get extensions. It will take you to the link - PDF Download is in the recommended add-ons.

I also recommend you add:

colorful tabs
cool iris (hover over a link in a thread and see the link without going to it - much quicker)

there are many more add-ons - have a browse

Thanks Daves! The add-ons are cool - I've got Pimpzilla for now!

Cheers

Mark :D

The add ons I find really good are Adblock Plus and a British English dictionary, makes the spell check on the forum redundant. :D

agreed. Another good one I use is tabs catalogue. F8 gives all open tabs in a single screen as thumbnails
