Finishing advice for Oak part 2

The second issue is finish. He want's it to match or at least be similar too a smaller table he has in the house. This is European oak with a Danish oil finish (although it's had plenty of coats of wax on top). I don't mind what finish I put on it be it danish oil (Rustins) or my currently prefered finish of the Osmo Polyx plus wax. Which (if either) would be a better choise for a piece of furniture in this environment? He does have computer and electrical equipment in there and is considering a de-humidifier soon which may lessed the problem but the temperature differential will still remain. Any advice?

Osmo is more hard wearing and waterproof so seems a reasonable choice. The temperature differential is not nearly such a big issue as the moisture/humidity.

You could try Sam Maloof's mixture - a few years ago, I tested it out on some oak before using it for a kitchen table - it has proved to be very durable.

We have an oak floor done in Osmo. Seems very robust. Even survives my kids peeing on it (we have it in the downstairs loo).
