I see you are in Marlborough so I would get in touch with Holmans specialist paints in Swindon, they will mix any colour and do a range of paints from loads of companies, from industrial 2 packs to a can of emulsion.

Heartily recommend HSP for colour matching. We've had them match both F&B and LG in the past, and been very pleased with the results*

Unless the F&B colour is particularly specific, personally I would knock it back with high grit sandpaper, and overcoat with two coats of LG oil eggshell (or whichever sheen you target), or their floor paint. From personal loved experience, the latter holds up really well on furniture.

If you're determined to stick with the work already done, I've had good experiences with Morrells nitrocellulose aerosol lacquers. Severa sheens, hard wearing

* Mixed up 5l of one of their Tikkurila emulsions, and used to test colours in large (half wall, whole hall) test "patches". I recall that the matches to LG were so good it make it quite tricky to see where we had yet to paint when overpainting with the LG original!!

I've played about with bona mega over painted furniture including F&B with good results. Simply because I use it (the bona) a lot on floors and often have half a litre or so leftover. I have sprayed, brushed and rolled it on various different bits lying around the workshop and it works great (brushing wasn't the best) with it being a floor lacquer it dries solid and the colour change is almost perfect.
It's a 1K so easy to apply and comes in various sheen levels.
It may not work out cost wise, as I say I've only been using what's left in the tub but I'm sure they do 1l bottles as well.

Jumping on this thread as have same question. I use Crown Trade Fastflow (colour matched to F&B) for my built-in furniture. Thus far I've used it on wardrobes (as well as skirting/architrave etc) so haven't seen the need for a protective finish.

However I've just knocked up a desk for my daughter in mixed materials and wondering if I should be applying a varnish to the MRMDF top (once it's painted)? Think to protect against scratches/makeup stains/pen marks etc.

Given its built-in would prefer to avoid sprays. Could anyone share a link to a product they would recommend that could be brushed/roller on?

Thanks in advance
