But it's only single pinion. Everyone knows that decent hand-drills are double-pinion. Those keyless chucks on the old hand-drills are not so hot on gripping power, either.

Bin it. Get one of the old Marples or Footprint double-pinion keyed chuck jobs.

At the local car-boot. Actually it was part of a handful of tools I got from the same seller which also included 2 interesting hammers ..

I have one of those blue bird hammers. My 6 year old daughter loves it.

Now with handles and a replacement chuck as one had to be cut off. not bad for 50p
