Anyone using the Festool blades on the SP6000K? I'm finding that the blade the Makita comes with is frankly a bit crap and burns all wood or sheet materials at all feed rates and all blade depths.

Festool seem to have a nice range of plunge saw blades but I was wondering if anyone is using them successfully in the Makita, or if there are any issues? I don't think the 5mm difference in diameter will be a big deal, its only a 2.5 mil difference in cut depth, and the bore is the same at 20mm.

Alternatively, can anyone recommend suitable blades? I love the accuracy of the saw but the burning is a pain.

I am using a Festool blade in my plunge saw, but then again it is a Festool saw
The Festool blades cut beautifully but i don't know how they would work on a Makita.
It might refuse to cut in protest at being put on a japanese tool

Umm, I think you'll find that the SP6000K is made over here. :p

I've not had those burning issues with the blade on my one and I've been cutting worktops, chipboard and mdf all week.

Just be careful that the blade doesnt hit the guard.
Some are very close.

what size do you need?

Cunningly the Makita takes 165 mm and the Festools are 160mm.
