Just noticed your bit about the Nintendo wii are you saying they cant be discounted either ?

Now who's putting words in who's mouth?

I didn't say anything about Nintendo price fixing they were an example of a supply and demand problem which has resulted in the product being touted on the modern day black market for more than the rrp thus imacting on the brand name. The price you paid at £179.99 is the rrp so you've got no discount really yet before Christmas the supplies were so short that independent high street dealers were selling them for £200+. On Ebay they were also priced higher and they sold. It's a bad state of afairs really but the result of the free market economy and within the rules so I can't/would not complain about that. I was simply speculating that Festools attempt to regulate the price may be to avoid a situation like this, maybe not. Even if this isn't the case I'm just saying there may be more reasons behind this pricing policy than wanting to scew the customer over. Either way the end result is the same. It's still uncompetetive and still against OFT rules. Nintendo on the other hand have no power over people who buy in bulk often abroad and sell at a higher price on ebay so I want to make it clear I'm not pointing any kind of finger at them.

Just as an added thing for anyone who wants a Wii. Argos regularly offer a £10 voucher when you spend £100 or over and a £5 voucher when you spend £50. So you go in and buy £100 worth of gift vouchers and get the £10 voucher on top. Go back to the end of the que and buy another £50 worth of gift vouchers and get an extra £5 voucher. Back to the end of the que again buy your Wii for £180 -1p with your vouchers and a little cash and you'll have paid £165 for it and as a bouns because you've spent another £100+ in one transaction you'll walk out with the Wii and another £10 gift voucher. So that's like paying £155 for it legit.

There you go again not reading my post properly if you look I said I got it price matched at PC World for £162 with a free game worth £35 so really I got the Wii for £127

At the moment its the Wii Fit boards that are in short supply not the Wii,s themselves. £69.99 rrp and they are selling for over £100 on Ebay. I was lucky I managed to get one for £69.99 from local Woolworths.

I DO get discount when I buy Festool so whats the big problem ?

Good for you. How do they deal with the warranty card issue - having to send a copy of the receipt to get the two years extra is reputedly how they enforce it among their dealers. A refund?

I used to know a retailer who did discount a few years back, but they don't anymore - citing their contracts and the receipt/warranty issue. Everyone I've tried will only discount accessories (to the 20% level they are allowed to do).

Jake,

I always fill out the online warranty form to get the 3 years warranty and they dont ask what you payed for it so that wouldnt come into it and why should it.

One last thing to hopefully clear the air round here if Festool are guilty of anything underhand then I just as much as anyone else would want to see something done about it .

OK ?
