I'm looking to buy a second 1400mm rail plus jointing bars for cutting whole sheets with the tracksaw. I realise these take a bit of jointing accurately but I can't justify the cost of a 2700 rail. I see the 1400mm LR32 is only £10 more than the standard rail. I dont have or intend to buy in the near future any of the LR32 accessories but I'm thinking should I wish to one day the extra £10 spent now would be worthwhile. Is there any issues joining the standard and LR32 rail together, other than the issues joining 2 normal 1400 rails? Any reason not to?

Thats what I use for ripping long lengths with my TS55 - the 144 + the LR32 and they work very well

I used joined 1400 rails for a years but have recently bought a 2700 as I had a project doing a lot of full board length cuts.
If you're doing a lot of long cuts, bite the bullet and get a 2700. I found that when joining two 1400 rails together I had to be very careful how I handled the joined rail to prevent it being knocked out of true. I've got none of these problems with the 2700 and it's also good to have a full board length straight edge around the workshop too. I wish I'd bought one years ago
