Axminster had them on offer last week when I was in there. Similar sort of money as I recall. Not sure if it was in-store only.

I have the paddles - not really sure what they do to be honest the pins seemed sensible to me. I'm not sure I trust the paddles for spacing. Assuming this is what you mean?

Paddles or pins?
I know paddles are the latest...
...if given a choice, which?
Pretty sure the pins were discontinued when the paddles came out, so unless you're buying used you won't have the choice. I have the original, with pins, and they work fine. I've never used the pins to register a 'run' of domino mortices as I found the spacing to be too narrow - this is apparently quite common and what prompted the change to paddles.

Paddles can be locked 'in', which can help if you're aligning against a pencil mark instead of the edge of a board, otherwise they're very similar.

Everyday is a school day, I didn't know paddles could be locked in! I'll have to take a look as sometimes they can be annoying if they are right on the edge of a work piece.

Thanks for all that guys...could anyone give the respective model id's for the pin type and paddle type!!
Thanks
Gerry
As mentioned above, pretty sure the pin model was discontinued when the paddle type came out. UK model no. for the current (paddle) type is 574327 - I'll have a look at mine (pin type) later and see if there's a number on it.
