hi i have just bought a union jubilee lathe 30" bed, it is dark green but i think it has been over painted does any one know what colour they were originally painted.

Don't know the precise colour number, but all the ones I've seen have been a sort of metallic battleship grey.

You should be able to find areas of original paint, either inside, or by (very) minor disassembly.

I think most were grey with the inside painted red.

The red was primer underneath. You can get Jubilee/Harrison grey here:
Workshop Machinery Colours (about halfway down on the right)
