Last night, I thought I'd sample some science fiction, so I sat down to watch a Samuel L Jackson film on BBC 1. Although, I knew it was something to do with super-heroes, it looked promising, but the first time a 'caped-crusader' made an appearance, it just looked what it was. Childish nonsense. I'm afraid it just didn't come off for me.

Fortunately I was in time to watch Michael Ball and Emelda Staunton on the other side. Initially, it was a bit confusing to an oldie like me, but it proved to be a lovely hour or so of musical nostalgia! I won't say why it was confusing, in case you haven't seen it yet! Wouldn't want to spoil anything.

Well I have to say that out of all of the plethora of channels available on the TV it was utter rubbish! I lost count of the amount of repeats on each of the channels! As for the comedy programs most of them had whiskers on they were so old! Is it a case of there is no comedy talent worth showing nowadays or just down to the fact that they have such a low budget they have to use what they have and share it with all of the other channels? Only thing that seemed worth watching was the news and even that was repeated over and over. I wonder what they would say to me repeating my TV licence next year?
