It never did make sense to me that EV`s got cheaper tax, they are heavy and damage the roads just as much as anyone else. They already avoid fuel duty.
It is just the government trying to force everyone to buy ne EV`s which they decided to encourage in the belief it will clean up the planet somehow.
Many of the components and materials being shipped all over the world and made in China where they use masses of coal. It makes no sense.
Sure there might be a bit less emmissions in central Bath and London but I doubt it will cut global emissions at all.

Road Tax is emissions based hence why a Range Rover pays more than a Fiat 500. EV's are zero emissions and therefore should be exempt from road tax with the system we have. I personally feel road tax should be based on miles and weight to make it fair to all users. Drive more miles = Pay more tax, heavy car also pays more tax.

There is absolutely no doubt it will clean up the planet. Emissions from burning oil are huge.

This is true for all vehicles, a lot is produced in China, not just EV related.

Consider the gas supply for UK, we bring in gas from Australlia, USA and other places by ship, we import directly from Norway via pipeline. Here in Gainsborough were sat on a massive gas find that this government wont licence to be extracted due to their green policies How does that make sense? Why not extract what we have and cancel the shipping and importing of gas?

Have a look at this and see if it gives a more favourable outlook.

Nope, not at all, it sure aint crap as the worlds press will affirm.

Like the small amount of lithium from the countries with not the best record for children in mines?

No problem at all

Nope, I just snigger every time I see the cost of a litre of fuel and you lot getting mugged at the pumps :ROFLMAO: :ROFLMAO: :ROFLMAO: :ROFLMAO: :ROFLMAO: :ROFLMAO:
The problem with EV cars isn’t the technology—it’s the owners. Many of them seem to treat it like a personality trait, much like some vegans, where it becomes the only thing they talk about.

Armchair critics know better than the experts at the scene.
To be fair if people read the likes of Telegraph they will genuinely think these things are true. They pump out endless anti renewables stories and when they are forced to do a retraction it's buried away and weeks later so no one notices it.

It's a shame trying to get a lower carbon world has to be such a battle but fossil fuel companies profits are on the line so they fight tooth and nail to slow it down
