I have an Emco Star 8" planer thicknesser which I am setting up to be an independent machine. I bought this on ebay and have set it up on a stand with motor but have discovered that the thicknesser rollers are rotating in the wrong direction when the cutter head is rotating in the correct direction. The rollers are driven by the cutter head through a planetary gear mechanism driven by 1/4" round rubber belts, I have taken the mechanism apart but cannot see that it can operate in any other way. There is no room to put a twist in the belts so it rotates the other way. I am hoping someone may be able to offer some advice as to how to solve this problem.

14 years later and I have exactly the same issue. Did you ever find a solution?
