Elm Burl Veneer

I've got a piece of elm burl veneer that i plan to use on a jewellery box I'm making. The veneer is understandably littered with pin holes. I plan to french polish with shellac as a finish. Does anyone have any advice on what I could use to fill the pinholes.

That's what I used for the same job on a writing slope. It's at home though!

Isn't "burl" in America and "burr" here?

I would say so Mike. The piece I laid was like a Nan (?) Bread; but I flattened it eventually!
