I was bidding on a EB P/T last night. I got out bid a few times and i left it at that. I just checked my ebay inbox and i have the winner binner telling me to bid again!!!!!

I think he's linked to the PT and trying to up the price!!!!!!!!!!!

Not necessarily Andy. If the successful bidder wanted to pull out then that could explain why. Especially if you were the next highest bidder.

No more bidding from me.

Need to save the cash for me new festool addiction

Update. I just received a second chance offer for the P/T. Looks like the highest bidder didn't want it in the end. Wonder why that is, can't purchase something you already own.

I guess this will go back on ebay, if so please be careful people.

If you do go for the second chance, then offer him a price that you were willing to pay and not what he bid it up to. Probably your highest bid in the auction and then see what he says.

This is what has happened in the "second chance" offers I have had - you get the option to "buy-it-now" at the price of your highest bid,not the highest bid.

I've had this happen a couple of times too. Initially I thought "great" and did a bit of a deal but lately I'm kinda thinking that the seller has setup another eBay ID with some ficticious address (does not matter as will never actually be used) which looks OK from eBays viewpoint and then uses this to bid against other bidders to up the price. Then when this "bidder" has upped the price to outbid everyone else they mysteriously drop out and the seller then asks you, as the second highest bidder, if you are still interested at your highest bid price...if there was only the two of you left in the bidding I would be tempted to offer your initial bid and see what happens...

Or maybe I simply have a way too overactive and devious imagination.....

Cheers
Mike

As long as you bid no more than you judged it to be worth to you in the first place, then why would it be necessary to question the value if a second chance offer is subsequently made?

Had a reply from the sender of the second chance offer, stating that i've been reported to ebay for fraud

Have I lost the plot here somewhere along the line? You were offered a second chance, did not take up the offer, and you're now being accused of fraud? What could you have possibly done that amounts to fraud???

Confused... very very confused...

I know, i've emailed the sender and they have stated that i may have been involved. I sent the emails i received from the other bidders to prove that i had nothing to do with this.

they have said sorry and so i've left it at that

Looks like they got messed about by two bidders.
