Your lucky. We lost the only butcher in Great Malvern and also the greengrocer. High Street full of gift shops, charity shops and building societies.
 
Shame, but all to common, killed by supermarkets usually as many people buy on price not quality.

There's an area not too far from us that has a thriving community of traditional type shops that between them sell most of the necessities of life. Much of it from local sources.

The other side of the coin, though, is that many of these local outlets, farm shops and the like sell inferior food, well past its sell-by date and often at inflated prices. I agree...if you can find a quality outlet then it pays to support it.
