Very nice, John. The brass wear strip is very important - you'll see the wood disappear before your eyes otherwise
Cheers
Philly :D

Hi,

Nice shaves, have you tried them out? I allways reach for my wooden ones first.

Pete

No, never use them. Most of the time I'm turning. ( If I am completely truthful I'd forgot I had them)
I suppose the most interesing thing about these is the adjustment.
A little tap with a little hammer :-k

ooh my favourite hand tool. Tho I must admit I had a quick go of Philly's at Westonbirt and didn't get on with it. I think the knack is slightly different with wooden's. I do love my boggs shaves ;)

I've got my spokeshave now, some of you may remember me talking about. Haven't tuned it up yet, but for me it will be a completley new hand tool to use, as I've no experience at all with them. The wooden ones look like a true craftsman's set!
