l don't know if this is the best place for this,
what is the cheapest way to get rid of dust in the work place l have a 8`x 6` shed so not much room also as to be cheap any ideas would be appreciated.
Thanks
Graham

Find out whats causing the dust then get a suitable extractor to suck it all up ;)

As you've posted this in the scroll-saw section, would it be safe to assume that a scroll-saw is your only maker of dust?
If so, a decent vacuum cleaner would do - the quieter the better. There was a recent thread singing the praises of a good one from Aldi/Lidl for not much cash. The small Henry models can also be run for longish periods and are fairly quiet.

yes manly scroll saw but also sander, chop saw, and belt sander so l think it needs to be adaptable for all, also looked in lidi and aldi stores and not seen any vacs
Thanks Graham

have the record dust extractor medium one the budget one is cheaper at about 100 pound 40 litre capacity cheap bags good suction , you need the power tool hose kit which is another 35 the thing I like about t is the flexible tapered yellow cone shaped connector you can trim this to any length to fit I have got four different ones to plug into each of my machines a lot of vacs have stepped adaptors that are hard plastic and would be more difficult to get a good fit , have a look on record website , sometimes they come up on ebay , if you want cheaper then a cheap vac form aldi or liddle I guess would do I think some people have the henry i think they about 100 notes , but for a proper dust extraction set up you be hard to find cheaper then the record and i would highly recommend it

The vac's in Lidl were about a month back so they are gone of the shelf until next time, though you could always ask if they have one in the back. 60 quid with power take off, so that the vac switches on and off with your powertool. The stepped adapter that Mark mentions is quite soft on the Lidl vac, so will adapt to more powertools than one of hard plastic. The Henry is quieter, but 30 quid dearer (at Viking Direct.) I don't know anything about the Record dust extractors but Mark is obviously happy with his. More expensive but hopefully longer lasting than an ordinary vac, especially when using for long periods. You pays your money and takes your choice.

As you only have an 8’x 6’ shed maybe just a general extraction fan unit may be all you need, I appreciate this would not suck the dust directly away from your cutting line when scroll sawing. But extractor fans are fairly inexpensive, it may be worth a try, and it would not take up any space. Then perhaps back up with a direct extraction unit with an induction motor at a latter stage.
As Martin said, you pays your money and takes your choice. Effective dust extraction is not cheap.

Take care.
