I was wondering if anybody knows if such a thing is made? Similar to the ones you can buy to fit a drill?

It would seem the more obvious tool to convert given that it is already table mounted but I've not had much luck searching for it (on here and Google).

Yep, definitly a no no that one. It does spin too fast even on the lowest setting. Much better to use a pillar drill with a false table top.

I believe Woodpecker make one...trouble is you have to buy

Porter Cable portable drum sander and a Woodpeck adapter plate

It drops in in place of your Woodpeck Uni Lift

Regards Tom

P.S The adapter is usually made in limited batches

I got one of these drum sanders from Axminster. It will fit into a standard 5/8" (16 mm) motor shaft; I have a couple of old 1/3 hp vacuum pump motors lying around and I thought I might try attaching it to a mounting plate to fit the router table. Not quite worked out the motor mounting part yet and of course, it won't oscillate but the router table has dust extraction built into the fence. I may just try an open sided box to mount the motor.

The £8 set from Axminster are great and you just pop them in your pillar drill/mortiser in my case. As for using a router... post the result on you-tube so we can all have a giggle!
