Anybody use the Dremel 2500 bench vise? It looks ideal for small 'hobby work' to use with the Dremel drill. It does what I would use it for. But I read a review that parts are made of plastic--would that put you off buying one? Has that been an issue if you have one? Your views welcome.

That looks absolute pants to me, I have two metalwork vises in the workshop, well
three of the same Stanley fatmax ones (a pair got for a fiver each) and a simple wee one that clamps on to a thin bench.
They are all a nightmare if you ask me, and are no good for even light hacksaw use, or holding something enough to file, the tommy bar simply goes all piggeldy.
I know you said you're using a dremel, so I suppose you're set on getting a multi angle vice, the Stanley would probably do that OK for that, but you still need a bit of pipe (preferably that is a snug fit with the guide rails so won't get lost)
to tighten it down to the table, and tighten the ball down, and will bend those shorter tommy bars a small bit...
but if you don't plan on moving it, It'll be sound as a pound!
I suggest staying away from the Lidl ones with the suction cups, so bad I never even used them. Next...
In ye old Axminster Catalogue I see the same as in the picture called "universal swivelling table vice" I had a very quick look at one before and it seemed decent, although I didn't tighten it down and actually use it.
It used to retail for 13 quid!
Maybe some users could chime in on this, or the Proxxon?
I haven't looked around for these cheaply, but see some in Australia for 44.90 titled "Bench Vice 270 degree Rotation Clamp Vice Hobby Vice"
You might be better at finding the same thing elsewhere with cheap or freepost.

I would give that a try long before that Dremel job.
Next vice I'm going to get will be a cast iron Lidl 25 euro job, and not bother with adjustable vices again, I will be glad not to use those things when those big blue ones come in again.
(have one at the folks and it has got some abuse)
Sorry can't give you a good link to the one pictured, but basically saying of the ones that I've seen, its a toss up between that, the Stanley and the Proxxon.
(guessing you want to work on small items, if you don't for entertainment value look at the Stu-Mac one)
Unless someone has seen some ones, which is ever more likely with stuff coming from the Far East, Indiamart has an interesting looking thing that you can't buy?

Looks pretty pants to me, very lightweight and flimsy.
Not all dremel branded products are like that though. I have the dremel branded d-vice and it's really really nice and very useful for holding small parts.

I've used them for 4-5 years now for teaching in classrooms and workshops. Was using one today. I've found them to be quite solid and they've had a fair bit of abuse from some of the feral kids that I teach. Haven't used them with power tools, and with two horizontal tommy bars you might get some vibrating and rattling depending on what you are doing. But you can tip and roll the upper part of the vice and lock it off quite securely. Used them with spokeshaves and branches and hold 50-60cm MDF boards on end along the table top while edges are glued on.
