I bought a cheap Anesty router from Amazon last year, and since I started using it in the summer, I've found it to be very useful indeed, and I even made a router table for it. I noticed a couple of months ago that there is a Katsu plunge base that would fit it, and now people are asking me what I'd like for my birthday... Just wanted to know whether it's something that I'll get much use out of, though I realise it depends on what projects I'll be doing. Maybe it would be better to make do perhaps and then look to upgrade some years down the line to a larger router? That said, it's only £32.99, so perhaps I'm wasting your time here!
Thanks

Yep - turns the trim router into a real router!

I now have 3 trim routers (1 x Katsu corded, 1 x Einhell cordless, 1 x unbranded corded) - unbranded in a router table with lift, Einhell in plunge and the Katsu freehand. Perfect.

I bought a basic Makita battery compatible trim router as I already had larger plunge routers, when I retired the guys bought me a full Makita kit with plunge and other bases, it might not have the sheer horse power of my 1/2" mains plunge router, but it covers many of the smaller bit jobs and is much more handy, go for it would be my advice.

I have 4 routers including the Makita kit with 3 bases and it's my go to router for hand held jobs. Definitely worth getting imo

Thanks yes - it's been ordered! Looking forward to trying it out.
