after already waiting a week for my chuck i just phoned DIYTOOLS.co.uk to be told they will receive my chuck in stock at the end of this week and post it out next week, fat chance of getting it before xmas, so i have now cancelled it and bought it from elsewhere. Its not the first time this company has messed me about, so i will now avoid them.
ok rant over..

Way to go Steve, hate it when you place an order, and it's not until you ring up much later that they say the stuff is not in stock.

Why can't they just send an email telling you what is happening. That way they may keep some customers.

Hiya, to all. When I order anything from UK I pay by STG. Draft cheque. This is the same as all cheques you have to wait to clear in bank.
I ordered a Spirlling-Texturing tool from Stiles and Bates and with Christmas so close I thought it might get here before the Holiday. Isent the order last week and low and behold I have my Sp-Tex and have had a few runs on it all ready.
This was the first time I had bought anything from this Co, It wont be the last. 10 out of 10 Have a Happy Christmas at Stiles and Bates you have made one for me REgards Eugene. (Boysie).

Steve sorry to hear of your problem and yes it's not nice when it happens. Thankfully and I am sure that I type for the 99% that this does not happen. Those companies that have the attitude which you have gone through I am sure will in this climate be weeded out. Ho Ho Ho Merry Christmas to you.

I have used Stiles and Bates a number of times now and they are very quick to deliver, I've always had good service from them. No connection, just nice to find a reliable company. :D

Regards,

Mike C

I use Stiles & Bates for all my turning stuff and i also bought a Spirlling /Texturing tool from them last week. Like always i placed my order at night and within 48hrs it was in my workshop spinning on the lathe. 10 out of 10 for this company :D

Yet another Stiles & Bates fan great service, ordered some pen kits the other day, asked for a spare 7mmx60mm brass tube had a phone call"if we have got one pop it in with you order sir" no charge!! hows that for service. Also Turners Retreat are good.
Thomasb (John really).
:D :D :D :) :)

I also use Stile and Bates can't really comment on the delivery as they are just down the road so delivery cost is greater than traveling cost very helpful with everything. :D

begining to think i maybe should have gone there, my chuck still hasn't shown up as yet, and i dont think parcelforce work at the weekends, so fingers crossed it will come..
