Thanks Max, my question though is will the screw method that's a little.later in the video do? I'm not opposed to doing the traditional bb end as in the image however I will lose a fair bit of length by doing so, hence wondering if the screw method as explained in the video will cut it or not as it's the least amount of material used and also relatively subtle

The other option I may pursue is the domino method and make my own dominos and shoot for a 50mm wide domino, 60mm long

On further thought I'm going to head this direction

Fixing the mistake:

End cut off, run through the planer and square up the end again with the router.

Then onto cutting the slots for the floating end, cut to 70mm apart from the middle one which will be tight at 60mm. Repeat on the table end but for snug fit at 60mm.

Time for a cup of tea.

Glued up the tenons on the table end. Slow progress today but it's happening.
