I have an url from an art book and when I type it into I/e10, chrome of firefox it will not let me in or states it cannot find etc. No security cert. etc.

However if I email the link to myself and when it comes in and click the link it takes me straight in no trouble, in fact it then comes up in utube as a video and they don't mind it.

It is an art site so perhaps there will be some ladies on show perhaps.

are you copying and pasting the link in? or typing it in manually?
sometimes a long link will be visibly shortened in email clients so as to fit it in the text, therefore if you are reading the link and typing it in you may be missing a few bits.

if I type the link or copy it at the web page, it will not be accepted.

I must click the link I have typed at the email post and there are 28 links I need to mail myself.

very odd.

I recall you having issues with ebay/paypal and your computer.

Type the url in here and I will have a look and report back.

Side note: you really shouldn't click on urls in emails unless you know what's going on.

what do other browsers say ?

Nev checked it out for me and it is pukka, it appears to be a web transfer url which takes me to utube videos on painting tutorials published by a well known book publisher.

Bringing up this subject again:

Using my wifes laptop and the wireless link I can open those files.

I have done virus checks, used a cleaner and have the internet settings open to all comers! and I still cannot get to that link direct if I type the url in. OK if I use a link.

Anyone know whats going on?

Today the url now works for me typing it in, the first time in about 7days.

Had quite a bit of support conversation with quartobooks so perhaps they got something going.

At first I/e10 said they would not open because of the security cert. was bad and would not open, those messages have now disappeared.

Thanks all.
