This side table has been laying in wait since last autumn to be completed, it has stood in front of that radiator all winter without the tabletop fixed.
So yesterday I went down to our local hardware shop and found some brass brackets with slotted holes for screwing and got the top fixed. It has now had a couple of coats of sanding sealer and later today it will get the wax treatment and then presented to my wife for her laptop storage table with accessories to go in drawers.

Also got in mind a new design for another tissue box, a chevron design, the last time using this pattern was very tedious but hopefully things will be easier this time. Any suggestions on construction ideas welcome.

BB, odd you should comment on what I do with boxes, I am taking four boxes to an art group tomorrow, three already have boxes so possibly these will find a new home as well.

The tabletop was fixed down with slotted brackets at its rear edge and the front has screws put in at an angle. The four holes were to accommodate access with a screwdriver but that did not work owing to shelf below obstructing entry.

Finally got that side table into the living room today. The lady wants another one on the other side of the room now.

Good t see you working John. How old are you now, if it's not a rude question?

Been retired 19 years, and 73 years of age, only a youngster really. I remember I used to go to work for a rest on Monday mornings.

I think it's very cook that you're still out there knocking out more stuff in a week than I do in a year. Hats off.

Yep... At the moment those interesting things get in the way of NHS visits.

When it becomes the other way around, I might think of stopping the interesting things! :D

John
