That distant sound of "My Grandad made that" seems to be a possibility.
 
I hope so Chas, I've always liked the idea of heirloom pieces as a message from beyond the grave to keep guiding them towards a love of wood. I have many things from my own Father, deceased for over 30 years now and they always bring a little smile when I either see his work or use one of his planes or other tools.

The lathe is a 30 year old original (made in Australia) Woodfast. Built before the Chinese took over and when Axy was marketing Woodfast lathes. The model is what Record Power now market as the Maxi 1.
