The point being made, and missed by many, is that members cannot start a thread, for sale or otherwise, and then dictate who can or can't comment on it. That is all.

This has been blown out of all proportion. I think Mattty's problem (although he could of put it better) is the fact that Blister is dictating what can be said in his threads, which is wrong.

The irony is, Blister was only trying to stop the bloody charade this thread has turned into. I'm quite shocked by people's attitudes.

Again as I said above, Blister will have no problem selling things so he does not need to try and stop people leaving a post on his threads. If he stops asking for this then no one should have a problem with him, and if they do it's either personal or a troll. What do you think, or am I missing something?

It's hardly dictatorial as it turns out... Most people don't seem to mind, therefore, I would concede that by am almost democratic process the forum is not bothered by this behaviour - ergo it's not perceived as a dictate. By contrast, a minority dictating that "members cannot start a thread, for sale or otherwise, and then dictate who can or can't comment on it" is dictating - especially in the face of overwhelming contrary opinion.

Give it up Studders. I understand the point you're making but, like it or not, I get the impression that the majority are quite happy with Blister's thread. I think this is one where a sound and principled opinion is just that - an opinion.

The thing is, nobody has said that they don't want Blister to post 'For Sale', only objecting to his attempts to construct special rules favourable to his business. The 'charade' has been created by posters who have ignored this basic original objection and meandered off the point. But for Blister's comment, there may have been some opinions posted favourable or otherwise which readers would have ignored or absorbed - it's an internet forum. That's what happens. It's like me saying that this post is Gospel truth and nobody is entitled to contradict it. That would be inflammatory as Blister's suggestion was.
