Studders my man are you causing trouble again?

Mike

Moi ? :)

Some peeps (not you Mr C) seem to be jumping in and making comments and accusations, Troll indeed  , without bothering to read the thread properly.
The point being made, and missed by many, is that members cannot start a thread, for sale or otherwise, and then dictate who can or can't comment on it. That is all.

This has been blown out of all proportion. I think Mattty's problem (although he could of put it better) is the fact that Blister is dictating what can be said in his threads, which is wrong.

The irony is, Blister was only trying to stop the bloody charade this thread has turned into. I'm quite shocked by people's attitudes.

I wonder when all this bo11ocks will end in sales being banned from the forum :-k

I doubt that will happen, as it appears you can now plug your own ebay threads and nothings done about it.

I hope not

Again as I said above, Blister will have no problem selling things so he does not need to try and stop people leaving a post on his threads. If he stops asking for this then no one should have a problem with him, and if they do it's either personal or a troll. What do you think, or am I missing something?

Cheers

Hi Martin how is it going over there? Have you recovered from the long drive?

I hope that you thanked Edwin's Mum from my wife and I?

Like Wizer says. If you don't want to buy whatever is being sold then just move along to the next thread

£125 is still a very good price for this machine, seeing as it appears to be in an unused state. The cheap Woodstar model now costs about £130, by comparison, and CSM Abrasives still have the Delta listed on their site for £186.95 - click here.

You should try to ignore some of the comments you've received in this thread. Or, if you can't do that; this may help, next time:

Who are you aiming that comment at Ollie?

It's hardly dictatorial as it turns out... Most people don't seem to mind, therefore, I would concede that by am almost democratic process the forum is not bothered by this behaviour - ergo it's not perceived as a dictate. By contrast, a minority dictating that "members cannot start a thread, for sale or otherwise, and then dictate who can or can't comment on it" is dictating - especially in the face of overwhelming contrary opinion.

Give it up Studders. I understand the point you're making but, like it or not, I get the impression that the majority are quite happy with Blister's thread. I think this is one where a sound and principled opinion is just that - an opinion.

Give up what? Insisting that on this Forum any member should be allowed to comment on any thread, regardless of topic, provided such comments are within the rules?
No way. I don't care if most people 'don't mind' , though I'm not sure how you can know that, I do mind being told 'if you don't want to buy butt out'.

The thing is, nobody has said that they don't want Blister to post 'For Sale', only objecting to his attempts to construct special rules favourable to his business. The 'charade' has been created by posters who have ignored this basic original objection and meandered off the point. But for Blister's comment, there may have been some opinions posted favourable or otherwise which readers would have ignored or absorbed - it's an internet forum. That's what happens. It's like me saying that this post is Gospel truth and nobody is entitled to contradict it. That would be inflammatory as Blister's suggestion was.

I think Gary is talking about me linking to an ebay sale.

bit below the belt, as soon as he pointed out the rules it was changed.
Maybe Gary never looked at the thread again, but if it upset Gary, then I humbly apologise with all my heart, flowers and a box of chocolates are in the post.

Perhaps you need to speak to your employers , but its only my opinion , or should I keep it to myself :-k

I shall have a very stern chat to myself tommorrow.
Mind you I get paid too much to rock the boat.

Matt I cannot see why you are having a pop at Studders because he has just made his point, which is equally as valid as any other member and has done nothing else.

Cheers

Sorry, Studders. It was a bit tongue-in-cheek... You know, dictating that thou shalt not dictate - geddit?!. It was funny (well I thought so). Where the feck is everyone's sense of humour these days.

I feel like the elephant in the room - I thought you were all being funny and ironic when, all a long, I think everyone really has been serious. Eeeek... scary place...

You're all mad, barking mad. Poisonous monkeys, blaaaah....

:D :D :D

And and and.... before anyone gets exorcised about my poor attitude - you really do not need to give a **** what I think. It really is OK. Don't get all het up about it. I'm not important in your lives - I'm really not. You all have loved ones and families and things that are so much more important.

And, at the risk of being a bit selfish, on a more serious (not really serious - I'm still being playful..., snigger) note, please don't alienate Blister. He has stuff that he sells. When he runs out of stuff then I no longer care - I have no further use for him (at least not til I need a lorry driver to collect 4 lathes that may be coming my way and I may offer for sale on here)
