Would a vintage cast iron 14" delta bandsaw be a decent upgrade on a 10" Chinese one?

It will be a big step up from what you have. I had a similar saw but mine was only 3/4 hp. That design was the standard bandsaw and came under many brand names. Mostly made in Tiwan. Being Delta that one may even be US made. As Ttrees said check that the motor is not set up for US power. Only other observation I have is 1 hp will be a bit light on power if it is the 12'' depth of cut model.

Hello,
You would have to consider extra weight, it would probably have to sit on its own stand, so moving it around could be a problem. Your 10” saw probably can be lifted onto a workbench when you need it. Some Delta machines can be a bit rough when it comes to the motors, noisy and not induction.
