hi
its time for me to stock up on some wood supplies, so i have to cut a very long name for a chaps Daughters wedding later this year, as he works in a wood yard he is supplying the wood for me to cut it out, and while i am there he says he will 'look after me' while i am buying some of what he has available, cant wait to get there..

its not that welsh name is it

Alice and Bob Llanfairpwllgwyngyllgogerychwyrndrobwyll-llantysiliogogogoch
you will need a tree :D

lol
Dave :O)

Managed to get a whole bundle of Opepe west african hard wood, cut great and has lovely grain but dull in the finish, need a better way to finish it, and just been and bought a massive pile of 3/4 oak from a guy who's selling up, there was also tulip wood in there and maranti too, so wont be needing much wood for a while...

Hi Steve nice Haul never used opepe i Wonder if Sanding sealer might help the finish.

Geoff.

Hi Steve ,Good haul plenty to keep you going for a time anyway .

On finishes have you tried Woodoc yet , a lot of turners are using it over here some use 10 and others use 20 .I think Phil Irons was the agent in the UK.Cornacopia (Geo. Watkins) was useing it if you PM him I'm sure he would fill you in .

hi guys
as Eugene said i have sent Richard an email to ask his advice on the matter but i do like the sound of Geoffreys suggestion of using sanding sealer on it, just might give it a go..
