Hi Folks,

Somewhere in wide and wonderful web, before my hard disc died, I found an article on 'Tuning up metal bench-planes' by David Charlesworth. I know it was in conjunction with Fine Woodworking and I know it was down-loadable. I can't trace it, so maybe I saw the link on UKWorkshop?

Anyone who could point me to the link, will have my eternal gratitude.
Thanks in anticipation.

Hi Steve,
I am most obliged.
I believe I took out a membership too.

And are you able to set-up and/or repair Gibson jazz guitars perchance? :)

Thanks again

John (Brum)

You're welcome.

Re the guitar - I only repair my instruments at the mo, and haven't worked on an archtop. For the good of the instrument (and my peace of mind :) - I haven't fixed up enough scrappers yet to risk working on something good that I didn't put together) I'd suggest trying one of the guitar fora to find a good guitar tech around Birmingham.

Cheers
Steve

Hi Steve,
That's fair enough. Just thought it was worth the enquiry. A couple of frets are beyond 'stoning' on an L5.

I do have a Hofner Congressman 'scrapper' that needs a new fingerboard though!

Cheers
John
