This setting fault is nigh impossible with the Eclipse 77 discussed recently, regardless of the user's skill or knowledge.

Hi bb. What would happen if the depth of outer bevel on the 77s anvil is not dialled in correctly to brace the tooth above its gullet line.

That's most helpful, I recently bought a saw of the bay and couldn't work out why I was unable to get it working properly after I'd sharpened it. Had a look at the sa and sure enough the problem you describe is in evidence. I've filed all the teeth off, re-sharpened and I use and Elclipse to set and low and behold I have a lovely saw. Really appreciate your help.
