Is the cranked spanner for a router & table a gimmicky tool or a needy tool.
Just wonderingas i will be fitting a T11 into a table

i'd say its not needed. I have a t11 and use it in a table but find its easy enough to change the hight to get at it with the spanner but i do use the trend router table and have the quick release fittings. I guess it depends how often you you use the router in the table and i think once you start using in the table you will quickly make your own mind up on if its needed

Good idea if you keep a dedicated router bolted in the table. It also tucks under larger diameter bits that a straight one won't. I made one from one of the freebie single ended spanners supplied by DW, bent by heating to red heat + hammer and vice. Re tempering not needed as load on large spanner is very low, mine must be all of 10 yrs old, no sign of wear.
