Whilst waiting for glue to set on a box lid for that new idea box today, I got out a selection of wood samples I had come by !
They measure 100mmx47mmx10mm thick and I selected 6 timber varieties.
Idigbo, Eur.beech, Meranti, Basswood, Am.Cherry & Iroko.
(3 light & 3 darker)
My intention is to make 6 boxes approx 100mmx 50mm, and these are to be used for storing watercolour tube paints. I am hoping the boxes will then fit inside a larger box to be constructed and would be then called my artist watercolour box.
So six varieties as per pic. below.
and the first session of corner mitre cuts,
and then the second session of jointing cuts.
They are not the slightest problem to cut to size using my mitre cutting board and clamps as per photographs below.
So that was 48 joints cut (6 x 4 x 2) in around an hour.
