the quartz will cut no problem with diamond blade in the angle grinder tried this morning ok, but as Dean said the router won't touch ,if you've still got my number give me a call,the guys where i got the tops from near you in leeds may cut the cut out and groove it for you in exch for some beer tokens

that might be an idea. i go past it on the way to work, so could drop it in and leave it with them. Just need to dig out the plate. It is the cutout that is the difficult part

the guys there have all the kit for cutting and shaping all quartz,granite etc.They cut the small hole already in the plate so it will be no problem for them.

And I'm rather hoping that I would have noticed what the material was before hitting it with that 60 tooth blade
