Copying attachments

Does anyone know anything about copying attachments for lathes. Someone contacted me the other day asking about a Torquata model (which he is having to buy from Australia), wondering if it's any good and if there are alternatives over here.

Mornin' Nick. Don't know a lot about copying attachments as such, but I do know that the finish from the one you mention as against the rotary knife/router type is like chalk and cheese.

The 'Torquata' works but is basically a scraper and the finished surface would need quite a bit of work to bring up to a acceptable standard IMO. Certainly sanding, and possibly some hand turning if there are small details.

Can't offer any wisdom except that there was a copy attachment on eBay for my new lathe (that should be delivered this weekend ). It was cheap but I can't see me really needing one.
