The word 'misnomer' springs to mind!

I've wondered since if it could've been a Yank brand...the original hob was American - which was terrific prior to finding out that Marmite jars don't bounce very well - and we had a range of 'strange' plug sockets around the house that turned out to have been Yank in design. In fact, I think it was on this very forum that we found that out after posting a few photo's!

Edit : I've just remembered - we've still got one! Missed it, hidden away, when we had the others taken out....
