I've just finished a suite of bedroom furniture and we're now thinking about a matching bed. We'd like a king size and we have the room but we're aware of downsizing in a couple of years and we may need to change the bed.
I've been looking at hardware and designs and was wondering if by using the type of brackets from Rockler (http://www.rockler.com/heavy-duty-wroug ... elect-size) along with 100mm posts and 25mm rails I'd be able to move the bed rail in by 75mm if the need arose?
This would mean having the brackets on the extreme edges of the posts and might this introduce weaknesses?
It seems a bit too simple to be true!
I am aware that I'd also have to alter the length and all the slats etc. but at least we'd have what we want rather than a compromise.
Simple sketchup included just to help the words make sense.
