Hi all,

Some advice please; I have just inherited a dust extractor which is significantly better than the one I was using with my table saw. The trouble is, the hose on the De Walt dust extractor is 120mm ID and the connector on the saw is approx 98mm OD. I can't find an adaptor to connect the 2 together. Any suggestions gratefully accepted. Cheers, John

I share your pain. There seems to be a bewildering lack of conformity between connectors based on ID and OD, not to mention that the quoted dimension rarely matches the actual.
I managed to mix and match to fit in all but two places. There I have used a strip of 3mm neoprene, and used two hose clamps, to bridge things that were close but a few mm out.

Haven’t tried it, but plastic drinks bottles shrink when you heat them up. You could try cutting a sleeve from a suitable bottle and wafting a heat gun over it.
