With just over a week to go to the chequered flag, I'm hoping (as I said earlier) that we'll see a few more entries for judging.
However, the position on the WIP threads is as follows. As all know the main prizes will be allocated to the three categories, two in each, but my prize is for the quality of communication in the WIP thread (if the maker chose to do one) excluding chat and comments offered by other forum members.
If a competitor has a long running WIP thread, started at roughly the same time as the Competition began, I'll consider it in my judging, even if that competitor has pulled out at a later date. I've decided to do this so that at least someone who was unfortunate enough not to be able to finish, for whatever reason, is at least in with a chance of winning something.
Entries in a WIP thread after the 31st Oct will obviously not be considered, similarly a thread started towards the end of the competition will also not be looked at...as stated, it needs to be a thread started at around the inception of the Competition or at least when the project was started.
Finally, after the Competition closes, id be grateful if all competitors would keep 'bumping' their WIP threads onto the first page 'cos that's where I'll be looking...if I can't see it, I'm not going hunting for it!

If you've been very observant, you might have noticed that my avatar has changed. The small rosewood box contains the 'Blokeblade Special' and I'll leave it to whoever wins it to post a pic (and all the other prizes incidentally) if they think it's worthy - Rob

Could you post a link to the respective thread in the list above? Just a thought, would keep them all in one place :?

umm he has - thats why some of them have blue text - presumably those without havent started a wip

Err I missed the bit about the WIP prize teach me to pay more attention. I didn’t put one together as I couldn’t reconcile it with the limit of 6 photos. Never mind lesson learned. I have gained a lot from others WIP so I will put one together after the 31st.

the 6 photos was just for the entry - you can put as many as you like on a wip - incidentally mine if it happens at all, is going to be a lightning dash for the line as the doc wont let me lift anything heavy until wednesday

Updated with the people who have withdrawn.

nice

just two points

a) unless i'm being thick i cant see wizer on your list - he was making a spiral shafted end table , and hes withdrawn.

b) Olly OPJ - has also withdrawn

Regretfully, I am also going to have to withdraw, as the pressure of setting up a business in addition to the day job has taken its toll. I even took some annual leave this week in a rather optimistic attempt to get the project done but alas, the prepped timber still sits in stick under the bed.

My apologies to Rob and to the judges. Thanks for your hard work in putting on the competition. Thanks and congratulations also to all the contestants who have managed to make it to the finishing line. Some fine and interesting projects have been submitted and I don't envy the judges.

Good luck to all.

Dave

Aye, this is true. I certainly won't be finishing in time for the deadline. :( But, I will keep the WIP going.

I picked up the list of names and projects from the main competition thread, and for some reason Wizer was not on it.

.

also missing (unless i'm going blind or senile) is mike garnham - who was making a melting bureau thing - again he has withdrawn - alledgedly because he is too busy patenting an invention - but we all know hes really secretlty been taking a turning course ;)

I think that there might have been one or two people who Rob removed from the listings before I copied them as they had informed him that they had pulled out earlier.
