Hi.
I'm looking for a 1/2" collet for an interwood overhead router. Can anybody help? Cheers. Gary

Hi Steve.
Thanks for getting back. The machine has a 1/4" collet at the moment. Can that collet be bored or ground out to 1/2" ?
I know it's hardend steel and it wouldn't be easy but can it be done?

A lot of router cutter retailers also sell replacement collets so it really is a matter of establishing just what chuck your machine is fitted with and getting accordingly.

Have you had a look at the selection at TREND

Check for pattern and dimensions, not necessarily by listed brand as often they are fitted across several brandings.

One would assume if the router came with a 1/4" collet that it's not designed to take a router bit with a 1/2" shank. Common sense?

Easy enough to go the other way (half to quarter) but I think your router will be designed for 1/4" shank cutters.

HTH

Andrew
