Hi all

I would like to bid on some machinery on e bay but as most are heavy items to large to go into the back of the zavfira and usually away up north/midlands make it a no no to bid on as most are advertised as pick up only , I've tried a few of the better know carriers who wont set up an account unless your in business & you want things moved regularly don't want to know.

Anybody know of a company who will take on this sort of work pickup from a private address and deliver to another private address in the UK item of about 150 klg - 250 klg. hc

May be worth talking to your nearest local Heavy Goods haulier...
most are looking for 'return loads' to save the wagon coming back with nothing on its back, and are prepared to deviate a few miles to pick something up.

A truck running empty isn't making any money at all... a lot of guys, especially owner/drivers, would rather try and cover the cost of the derv at least... its worth a phonecall around, for sure.

Good point. There is a truckers forum somewhere or other. Ah..here we go... www.trucknetuk.com ..maybe some help for return loads? I know that they are struggling for business.

I set up an account with ABE Ledbury and they are part of Palletline. It was remarkably easy.

BTW - did those measuremments help?
