Hi

Well I've been leeching from this site for long enough so I thought that I would give something back.

Here's a couple of jigs for use with my Festool saw. Pretty self explanitory with the pictures. These are by no means totally orginal, just my versions of these particular jigs. Enjoy

Parallel Guide Setting Jig

A pair of guides, one with a tape, the other is then set from the first. Place at either end of a board and use them to align the guide rail.

There is fine adjustment on both jigs, the parallel guide is eay to set to within 1/10 of a mm with one adjustment. The fine aadjusters are M6 bolts so one turn to one mm to make things easier.

Enjoy, share and copy if you want.

Saint,

I see you have an MFT in the pic are they really worth the £360 they sell for, what do you use yours for?

I have recently started on the slippery Festool slope with a ts55 rails etc and midi vac and last week bought a planer.

Chipp71970,

Are they worth £360? Not sure, probably depends how far down the slope you are. For me, I use it in the workshop as a bench, glue up table, cross cut saw with the ts55, its very good with the router because of all the clamping options, in fact its just very good at what it does. Split it into its component parts and no, its not worth anywhere near that mark. However as a part of a system which can be shifted on site from the workshop it is to me. Thats probably where your answer is, what are you going to use it for. I work a lot with MDF and for cutting panels to size its great, it gives you a bit of repeatability that you dont get using the guide rails on there own.

I'm quite into the "Festool system", which probably clouds my decision making process and comments. I like it, I might get another if I decide to get the Kapex.

I just re-read what I have written and its a lot of words, not much content, sorry. I like mine what do others think of theirs?
