@ Doofusme Thanks! While they don't seem to stock wood chuck plates (unless one can use the pin plates for that too, not sure) the prices are really good, I'll keep an eye on it.

@ procell Thanks for the advice. My lathe is really on the small size and wouldn't be able to turn anything larger than 30cm, so perhaps even the smaller G3 could be ok, but I just started, so I don't really know what I am talking about.
My lathe has an index actually, is it important to have it on the chuck too? Actually I am a bit worried about big bowls flying, so for my first attempts I was planning on using a pretty substantial screw chuck or a 7.5cm plate with 4cm screws on a massive tenon to be sawn off after hollowing. Awful I know

@Spindle Thanks so much, I didn't quite realize they are actually two different type of chuck. I'll research the supernova 2 then. I was reading on a product description that on mini/midi late (mine is only 0,5hp) a lighter chuck is in the end an advantage, as it puts less strain on the motor, I'll research that too before deciding.

I bought one shortly before the price was reduced

I am quite pleased with it so far. Here is a photo of it fitted to my 1960's Arundel lathe, using an adaptor I made (as described in the General Metalworking forum).
