Turning MDF into gold in a northern town
...was total crap IMO.

With three honourable exceptions;

Top Gear

Outnumbered

The Royle Family

Have I missed something? I don't think so.

PS Outnumbered was the best of the lot - and perfectly suitable for family viewing.

So why was it shown at 10.30pm? Did the schedulers worry that it was too intellegent for their average prime time viewer?

We were talking about this last night - the schedule has been ***** this year. Even moreso for the kids - I had them in the days leading upto Xmas (SWMBO was on a course), and there was absolutely nowt on for them.

Left me scratching my head as to how to entertain them for 4 days

Cheers

Karl

The Royle Family :?

The three BBC Four documentaries in a row about Jackie Stewart, Graham Hill, and Jim Clark were excellent. Probably the best thing I watched over Xmas.

In fact I don't think I watched anything else...

Our TV was only on for a while to play on the Wii over christmas. No programmes watched.

I did look through Virgins catch up TV on demand yesterday to see if there were any good programs I wanted to watch but as said already didn't find any. Started watching Royle family but after 20 minutes I couldn't take any more and turned it off. never did get that show.

Didn't watch any tele over Christmas, but did see some good films...
Great Escape, Magnificent 7, the latest Tarentino film with Brad Pitt ( tosh and moderately violent   ) Last Chance Harvey (OK but predictable) Terminator Salvation (rip off of the last three) also Crossover (?) with HFord and the latest Star Trek movie...quite good.
The Magnificent 7 and the Great Escape were fandabby...what else do you need on Christmas Day but Steve McQueen on his motor bike?...apart from It's a Wonderful Life - Rob

Who wants to watch Ricky Tomlinson's character lift his right buttock and let rip, in his living room?

I can be as bawdy as the next, if necessary, but that kind of 'humour' just isn't funny. Unless it's watching Tomlinson getting flushed. 8)

It's just Eastenders with the lights on.

Bar sitting through the soaps on xmas day as I was outnumbered, I've not turned the TV on. I must catch up with TG on iPlayer. TV is a dieing media IMHO.

It's producing a lot of thriving millionaires with 'reality Telly'. And I don't mean the lotto winners! On the whole I agree Tom. Quality TV is expiring for sure.

John

the 2009 Most Annoying People was brilliant. Also Great Railway Journeys, Dickensons Real Deal, Full Throttle on Discovery about the history of the leading motorcycle manufacturers. Then there is the Worlds Strongest Man, American Chopper, Vintage Tractor Showcase on Rural TV, Flog It, Celebrity Mastermind. We have The World Darts coming up at the weekend..can Ted the Count pull it off for the third time.. tip for all the darters..high scores for show - doubles for dough. I'm off .. Whealer Dealers is on!

The FULL THROTTLE series of shows ( shown back-2-back ) was good.

Watching the stories of true artisans like Massimo Tamburini was fascinating.

Good call on that one.

The rest of Chrimbo Telly was 'keech' as we say in Porridgeland. :)
