Seen these in high end kitchen shops, and thought I could make something similar. Made from 12mm ply. Some knots in the inside layers add character. Surprisingly easy to plane the corner down with my trusty old plane. Then used the ROS with 60 through to 180 grit to smooth off the slope. Tidied the edge on a table belt sander and a little hand sanding on the hole.

Finished in Osmo top oil. My wife has already bagged a couple!

Many osmo oils and waxes are natural and food safe from what I understand
