Hi all
I have some question regarding good chisels.

Oire Nomi: it is possible to sharpen them with the MKII oning guide? If not, which guide do you recommend?

Lie-Nielsen bench chisels: they came with a 30° bevel and in few sizes. Why this?

Are all Oire Nomi created the same? If so, yes.

The bevel angle is because the A2 steel used is inclined to chip at a lower angle if used for chopping - LN got early ones sent back, I believe. The size limitations, presumably you mean the fact they're no larger ones? Could be they haven't got there yet. Could be the method of manufacture makes larger sizes difficult/impossible to do. I know not.

Cheers, Alf

Alf thanks for the replay

the oire nomi I like are the Iyoroi Oire Nomi the Dick sells. Since I never had a jap chisel I don't know if I can sharpen it in my MKII.
