Hi, I'm about to buy a Festool Kapex sliding mitre saw and am just wondering if anyone knows whether it will fit onto the DeWalt DE7023 Legstand?

I know that Festool (bless em) love to make their kit difficult to use with any one elses' but would appreciate a cheaper option to the £600 festool multifunction table which Axminster wants to sell me to put the thing on

Thanks,

Marcus.

Thanks! It's mostly for workshop use, but sometimes site, so something lightweight and collapsible like the dewalt is probably best....

HI Marcus, welcome to the forum.

I see no reason why you couldn't put your Kapex onto the DW stand. I have a Bosch SCMS and an Axminster stand. The latter is robust but basic, and the saw/stand interface that came with it was dire.

I bolted my saw down onto a piece of plywood. Underneath the ply are fixed two lengths of 2x2, so that they straddle the bars of the bed. They are the same thickness as the bars themselves, so the bottom edges are flush. Then I have 4 turn-buttons which just lock it down onto the stand, so that it doesn't tip.

Assuming that the Kapex has some holes in the base to fix it down (and I can't remember whether it does or not, but I would expect it to) then you could do exactly the same thing.

Edit - if you email me I'll send you a photo.

Ok, thanks all, have decided to go with he dewalt stand and make it fit one way or another! Cheers, Marcus
