I'm looking at some hvlp spray systems to start painting my kitchen doors. The make is Apollo. You can get the 400 model for around £100 or the 700 model for around £300. The questions are-- Is it worth paying the extra for the more expensive model and if so what would it do different to the cheaper model and would you notice. Any information would be appreciated

he compares a low end and high end HVLP system.

In a way - he prefered the low end system for ease of use

I have had both the Apollos - not sure of the numbers but the basic one with a plastic gun and a pro version. They are both good, they do what they claim.

I upgraded becasue A0 I was pleased with the little Apollo, but I found that whilst it was great for cellulose, it didn't have the oomph for spraying WB lacquer, and I was trying to go green. The gun is basic, fan can be wide or narrow, but there is no control over air input IIRC.

The Proline gun is all metal, and there is more control over the spray. It's also more powerful and will spray heavier materials.

I haven't regretted buying either of them.
