Been offered some cedar tiles, that's all I know about them. Has anyone any experience of cedar for scrolling?

Gill

I always heard cedar was brittle when it's thin. Depends what you make with it, I suppose.

If ''offered'' = ''free'' , then how bad can it be? :-D

It will keep spiders out of your workshop Gill  they use a lot of Cedar in the States so might be useful.
Cheers
Brian

Ps Gill has the snow got to you yet? we had a covering today but soon vanished and pretty icy at the moment on my Owl watch.....2 beautiful Barn Owls down in the forest and usual Tawnies making a racket

Hi Gill
I got some cedar earlier this year, it is very brittle when cut thin, it also warps and cupps alot. I found it to be a total pain to work with and was not impressed with it at all.
Sorry to be a downer!!!
Regards
Brendan

. . . . but it smells divine. We had a load of cedar logs delivered for our open fire a few years ago. They were a bit wet so we used to place a few in the hearth to dry out whilst burning the dryer ones. The steam and aroma coming off the damp ones was brilliant. Just saying ;-)
